Abstract
The Morphometry Model in the Batanghari Leko watershed uses a hierarchical theory and parameters of meander changes for identification in analyzing changes in the Batanghari Leko watershed based on comparisons with intervals at 1996 and 2019. The research method used in this research is the study of literature, data collection, and data analysis. The Batanghari Leko watershed modeling is made using Landsat imagery data. The Batanghari Leko river visualized by Landsat data in 1996 and 2019 illustrates the different appearance due to changes in meander morphometry. The Batanghari Leko River is divided into 13 segments ranging from Segment A downstream to Segment M upstream. In applying the use of hierarchical theory selected segments of detail B, C, E, G, I, and K. Based on the calculation of meander morphometry in the detailed segments, it was found that in the 3 downstream river segments namely Segment B, Segment C, and Segment E the value of sinuosity (C) experienced a steady decline of 0.05, 0.04 and 0.05. Then in the three upstream segments, namely in Segment G the value (C) experienced a significant decrease of 0.23, then in Segment I the value (C) experienced an increase or increase of 0.04, lastly in Segment K the value (C) decreased again by 0.11. Formations that are flowed by the Batanghari Leko watershed are Alluvium (Qa), Swamp Deposits (Qs), Kasai Formation (Qtk), and Muara Enim Formation (Tmpm). Rainfall data shows the intensity of rainfall in the upstream area is higher than the rainfall in the downstream area. Types of land cover in the study area are composed of secondary dryland forest, secondary swamp forest, plantation forest, plantation, mining, open land, savannah, shrub, swamp shrub, dry land agriculture, dry land agriculture mixed with bush, swamp, and settlements experienced changes in the intervals of 1996 and 2019. Changes in the morphometry of the Batanghari Leko watershed meander are associated with other parameters such as rainfall, land cover types, and geology. The study of river meander parameters is very useful in knowing the evolution of meander evolution in the Batanghari Leko watershed.
