Abstract

This study is entitled "Persuasive Communication in South Sumatera Children's Volunteer Community in Changing Street Children Behavior". The South Sumatera Children's Volunteer Community is a community engaged in social and educational fields, specifically education about street children in the city of Palembang. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in the behavior of street children in the South Sumatera Volunteer Community. The theory used in this study is the persuasive communication theory put forward by David G. Myres. This research method uses a qualitative analysis method which is a form of research that includes the process of collecting and compiling data. The process of data collection is done through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that persuasive communication conducted by the South Sumatera Children's Volunteer community applied several indicators in influencing the behavior of street children, so that street children showed better behavior after being fostered by the South Sumatera Children's Volunteer Community.
