Abstract

This studied aims to determine and describe the ability of students to understand mathematical concepts in evidence-based learning. Evidence learning was a learning that uses a proving process in the implementation of teching and learning. Subjects in this study were the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Kayu Agung, amounthing to 30 students and the object of this study was the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The material used in this researced is the determinant of the matrix. Data collection in this study used two methods, test and interviews. In this study, carried out 3 meetings, 2 meetings conducted teaching and learning using evidence-based learning and 1 meeting conducted a decription test. The interviews was conducted outside the classroom and only six students were selected. Based on the results of the students final test, it was found that the students had ability to understand the mathematical concepts of determinant matrix material after applying evdence-based learning in a percentage of 40% or 10 students of the total who took the test.
