Abstract

The research aims to design the Kambang Iwak park as a green open space in Palembang City and repair damaged facilities to support community activities and to make the Kambang Iwak park a cheap recreational facility. The research was carried out from April to August 2019. The research method was in the form of a field survey which included consultation with the Planning Department of Public Housing and Settlements, the field of facilities and utilities, the gardening sub-sector, physical data collection, analysis of theme determination, development of draft designs, interviews with visitors, refinement of designs, audiences with the Public Housing and Settlement Services, online seminars and finalization of designs. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the Kambang Iwak Revitalization used a tropical garden theme, with design components such as repairing a jogging track using outdoor ceramics, repairing children's play ground facilities and outdoor gym equipment, repairing gazebos and adding garden benches, taking selfies and adding types of plants. The plants used in the design Bunga Tasbih (Canna lily), red ashoka (Saraca asoca), yellow soka (Saraca indica), pink soka (Saraca asoca), the selection of these types of plants was done because of their easy maintenance and relatively low cost. Existing trees used in the design are bungur, ketapang kencana. The design results are presented in the form of 2D, 3D images and videos uploaded on YouTube. This revitalization has been carried out in three stages at a cost in the first stage of Rp. 567,587,010.00 in the second stage at a cost of Rp. 362,157,000.00 and the third stage at a cost of Rp. 234,535,000 at a cost per meter Rp. 43,947.21
