Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Experential Learning terhadap kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu. Penentuan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan terpilih kelas VII.2 berjumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran model konvensional dan kelas VII.1 yang berjumlah 26 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen mendapat pembelajaran dengan model Experential Learning. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan pengolahan data menggunakan perhitungan uji-t dengan program SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil tes antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai rata-rata tes awal 32,81 dan kelas kontrol mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 40,58. Nilai rata-rata tes akhir kelas eksperimen 76,12 dan kelas kontrol 63,96. Dari hasil uji-t menunjukkan thitung (13,742) > ttabel (2,060), artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas sampel. Keberhasilan yang dicapai kelas eksperimen lebih signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, model Experential Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara.
