Abstract

The research had been conducted in the Greenhouse of Soil Department Facultyof Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya from September 2019 to March 2020. The aim of this research was to study effect of lime and P fertilizer on soil pH, P absorption and sweet corn (Zea mays L.) growth in swamp land. The research used a Factorial Complete Randomized Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is P fertilizer consisted of 50% of P dosage recommendation, 75% of P dosage recommendation and 100% of P dosage recommendation. The second factor is lime consisted of 1 ton ha-1 CaO equivalent, 2 ton ha-1 CaO equivalent, 3 ton ha-1 CaO equivalent, and 4 ton ha-1 CaO equivalent. The results showed that lime treatment had a very significant effect on soil pH and dry weight of corn plants. P fertilizer application has a significant effect on soil pH. While the interaction between the two had no significant effect on soil pH, dry weight, P-plant content and P-plant uptake. Soil pH value significantly increased after being given P and Lime Fertilizer treatment. Applying lime with a dosage of 4 ton ha-1 CaO equivalent can increase soil pH, dry weight and P-soil absorption. Application of 75% of P fertilizer dosage recommendation can increased soil pH but does not affect the P uptake and growth of sweet corn. Key words: Lime, P Fertilizer, Soil pH
