Abstract

One of the organisms that live in swamp waters are microalgae, which have the ability to donate nitrogen nutrients to rice plants. This research aims to evaluate the density and rate of growing microalgae from swamp Lebak on a growing media limited to Nitrogen with various pH media. The research was conducted in August 2019 to October 2019 at the Chemical Laboratory, Biology and Fertility of soil Faculty of Agriculture University of Sriwijaya and in the Laboratory of Physiology and Plant development Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Sriwijaya. Pebeing designed using a random design complete with the treatment of differences in the pH value of the media, namely pH 4.0; 4.5; 5.0; 5.5; 6.0; 6.5. each level of pH treatment is repeated 3 times. The results of the identification indicate that there are 1st species of microalgae type nostoc of the Cyanophyceae class that is able to survive on growing media limited to Nitrogen. The pH treatment has a noticeable effect on the density of microalgae cells on first and third day observations, but on secondday observations, the fourth to the eighth medium pH treatment is not apparent. Best growing rate with optimum cell density obtained at pH 6.5 medium on day six with amount of microalgae cell density 8.11mL-1 cell Log
