Abstract

Dekolorisasi zat warna direct red-81 pada limbah cair industri kain jumputan di daerah Tuan Kentang Palembang menggunakan B. cereus telah dilakukan. Analisis dekolorisasi zat warna direct red-81 dan limbah cair direct red-81 dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif menggunkan metode kromatografi lapis tipis dan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. B. cereus diketahui mampu mendekolorisasi zat warna direct red-81 pada kondisi awal dengan persen dekolorisasi sebesar 85,63%. Beberapa variabel digunakan untuk menentukan kondisi optimum B. cereus dalam dekolorisasi zat warna direct red-81 diantaranya pengaruh pengocokan, waktu, konsentrasi, pH, dan suhu. Dekolorisasi direct red-81 oleh B. cereus optimum pada kondisi tanpa pengocokan, waktu dekolorisasi selama 24 jam, konsentrasi direct red-81 sebesar 80 mg/L, pH 7, dan suhu inkubasi 37˚C dengan persen dekolorisasi sebesar 88,10%. kondisi optimum B. cereus diterapkan pada dekolorisasi limbah cair direct red-81 dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa B. cereus juga mampu mendekolorisasi limbah cair direct red-81 dengan persen dekolorisasi sebesar 89,11%. Berdasarkan hasil analisa kromatografi lapis tipis dan spektrum UV-Vis menunjukkan bahwa zat warna direct red-81 dan limbah cair direct red-81 mengalami proses degradasi oleh bakteri B. cereus.
