Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul Kepadatan Populasi Chironomus sp. dan Tubifex sp. Sebagai Bioindikator Kualitas Perairan Sungai Bendung Di Kota Palembang. ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai kualitas perairan Sungai Bendung ditinjau dari kepadatan populasi Chironomus sp. dan Tubifex sp. serta mengetahui hubungan antara parameter fisika kimia perairan dan kualitas sedimen perairan dengan kepadatan Chironomus sp. dan Tubifex sp. Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Agustus-November 2018. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling. Identifikasi sampel makrozoobenthos dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ekologi Hewan, Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya. Hasil penelitian didapatkan kepadatan Chironomus sp. tertinggi pada stasiun I bagian tengah sungai sebanyak 622,22 ind/m2 dan Tubifex sp. 9.111,11 ind/m2. Kualitas perairan tergolong tercemar yang menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada komunitas makrozoobenthos lain di setiap stasiun perairan Sungai Bendung. Kualitas sedimen banyak mengandung C-Organik karena bersumber dari limbah domestik rumah tangga.
