Abstract

The Tetrahydrofuran manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 60,000 tons/year is planned to be established in 2025 in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta Province with an estimated area of ​​2.2 hectares. The raw materials for the manufacture of tetrahydrofuran are 1,4 butanediol, water, and 130 indion catalysts. The process for making tetrahydrofuran refers to US Patent No. 2016/0155207 B2 by hydrolyzing 1,4-butanediol to become tetrahydrofuran and water. The type of reactor used is the Batch Stirred Tank Reactor with operating conditions of 110 0C and a pressure of 1 atm. Use The distillation column uses a sieve tray-type distillation column which aims to separate tetrahydrofuran from its impurities. The company is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a Line and Staff organizational system, led by a Director with a total of 159 employees. Based on the results of economic analysis, this Tetrahydrofuran factory is feasible to be established because it has met various economic parameter requirements, namely as follows: • Total Capital Investment (TCI) = US $ 93,295,482.71 • Total Sales = US $ 174,578,617.69 • Total Production Cost (TPC) = US $ 133,166,408.20 • Pay Out Time = 2,430 years • Rate Of Return On Investment (ROR) = 31.070% • Discounted Cash Flow -ROR = 37,230% • Break-Even Point (BEP) = 33% • Service Life = 11 Years
