Abstract
This study aims to describe the analysis of the needs of students and teachers of the video animation media and to describe the results of the validation of the animation video media on learning to write drama texts on XI grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang High School. This research is research and development with a modified 4-D development model. Data was collected through interview techniques, questionnaire techniques, and validation sheets. In analyzing the data obtained from interviews conducted by analyzing the data in detail, then for the questionnaire data obtained is presented, while the data obtained from the validation sheet are described. Researchers validate experts, namely material experts, media experts, and linguists. The results showed that the animation video media created were declared to be very valid by validation experts. Material aspects get a value of 31 with a percentage of 77.5%, media aspects get a value of 36 with a percentage of 90%, and language aspects get a value of 19 with a percentage of 79.16%. This shows that learning media writing drama texts using animated videos is appropriate for students to use.
