Abstract

Erosion caused by changes in land use without giving any attention to land use can result in decreased land productivity. An area that become concern in South Sumatra is Sub DAS Lematang Tengah. So this research was conducted to determine the size and classification of erosion in Sub DAS Lematang Tengah during the last 10 years using USLE method and ArcGis program as a visualization of the spread of erosion. Based on the analysis, it was found that the erosion value for the last 10 years in Sub DAS Lematang Tengah was 31.12 tonnes / ha / year with an average annual loss of 3.11 tonnes / ha / year. The largest erosion occurred in 2016 amounting to 4,291 tonnes / ha / year and the smallest erosion occurred in 2018 at 2,475 tonnes / ha / year. From the calculation results obtained the highest rain erosivity value or R factor of 6.287 MJ mm / year, and the highest erosion rate was found in areas with brown Podsolic soil type with a K value of 0.28. According from the slope map, the erosion value is quite high in areas with a slope of 25-45% and > 45%. From the land use map, the high erosion value is found in the scrub area with a CP value of 0.7. Therefore, it can be concluded that the greater the number of parameters obtained, the higher the rate of erosion that occurs.
