Abstract

Kissing gouramy production still depends on the catch in nature. Efforts that can be made to increase pond fish production are cultivation activities. The success of the aquaculture business depends on the supply of feed which is related to the type of fish and the age of the fish. Artificial feed generally contains animal protein and vegetables sources protein. Growth of fish that relatively slow often occurs due to the use of vegetables matter as a source of protein in feed. Vegetable ingredients sources phytic acid that makes fish can’t digest food well. The availability of phytase in fish is very limited. It is necessary to add phytase to hydrolyze phytic acid. The study aims to determine the effect of the addition of phytase to feed utilization efficiency, growth, survival rate and optimal dosage. Four experimental diets used in this experiment and three replications, namely P0 (feeds without supplements phytase), P1 (supplements phytase with 40 mg/ 100 g vegetables sources (soybean meals and bran), P2 (supplements phytase with 50 mg/ 100 g vegetables sources (soybean meals and bran), P3 (supplements phytase with 60 mg/ 100 g vegetables sources (soybean meals and bran). The result were showed that P1 gave the best resulted absolute growth weight (1.09 g), growth length (0.60 cm), feed efficiency (70.82%), protein efficiency ratio (2.31), survival rate (98.67%). Water quality obtained were temperature 26 ºC - 29 ºC, pH 6 – 8, dissolved oxygen 2.52 – 6.78 mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.05 – 0.38 mg.L-1.
