Abstract

This research is aboutthe Face Negotiation in Interfaith Communication in the Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) Palembang. This research is using face negotiation implementation analysis method which conducted with the aim of seeing how FKUB members contribute to maintaining harmony among interfaith citizens in Palembang. This study uses Face Negotiation Theory from Stella Ting-Toomey, which face-concern actually split into three which are selfface, other faces, and mutual face. Data collected through in-depth interviews. The result in this study aims to show that maintaining the harmony of people who has religious differentiation can be done by using face concern mutual face in order to keep the harmony of the interfaith itself.
