Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Flipchart media for learning results in math learning for fifth grade students about characteristics of cubes and blocks in SDN 11 Indralaya. The method of this study is True Experimental Design. The samples in this study were V A class and V B class. V A class was chosen as the experimental class whose learned using flipchart media, while V B class was selected as the control class whose learned without flipchart media. Each class consists of 29 students, so the sample size of this study is 58 students. The data collection technique that used was a test of learning results. From the calculation results, the average pre-test value for the experimental class was 45, while the average post-test value was 80.59. For the control class, the average pre-test score was 44.34 and the average post-test score was 72.62. Based on the pre-requisite test for pre-test and post-test data analysis, the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on the hypothesis test, can be obtained = 2.310 while = 2.048 with a significant level of 0.05 (5%). Because > then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that using flipchart media has a positive effect for fifth grade students’ learning results in math learning about characteristics of cubes and blocks in SDN 11 Indralaya.
