Abstract

The danger that is in the laboratory if not treated will have an impact both on every human who enters and uses the laboratory, as well as having an impact on damage to the equipment in the laboratory. To minimize work-related risks, it is necessary to apply occupational safety and health (K3) in the laboratory. This study to determine the application of laboratory safety in laboratories with the use of chemicals in 6 laboratories with the use of chemicals at Sriwijaya University, namely in Biology and Soil Chemical Chemistry laboratories, Chemistry laboratories, Integrated Testing laboratories, Reaction & Bioprocess Engineering laboratories, Organic Chemistry laboratories and laboratories Environmental Health. Using descriptive methods with a qualitative approach to find out more in-depth data about the application of Laboratory safety with in-depth interviews and observation methods. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation techniques and triangulation methods. Informants in this study were 34 people. The results showed that the application of the chemical aspects found 1 laboratory with satisfactory application and 5 laboratories with good application. In the application of ergonomic aspects, there were 4 laboratories with satisfactory application and 2 laboratories with good application. In the application of physical aspects, there were 4 laboratories with good application and 2 laboratories with good application. In the application of OSH management aspects, 6 laboratories were found with good application.
