Abstract

This research aims to find out the response of melon plant growth (Cucumis melo L.) to the application of Bokashi fertilizer. This research was conducted from December 2016 until February 2017 at Experimental Field of Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University and the analysis was done in Physiology Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty of Sriwijaya University. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments are Mo = control (1200 g chicken manure), M1 = 500 g bokashi, M2 := I 000 g bokashi, M3 = 1500 g bokashi, Mi = 2000 g bokashi, and Ms = 2500 g bokashi. The results showed that bokashi was better than control (1200 g chicken manure). The results showed that parameter number of leaves (26.93), number of stem segments (18.79), number of male flowers (20.13), number of female flowers (17.13), fresh weight of plants (267 g), weight (44.50 g), fruit weight (1.83 kg), fruit diameter (15.13 cm), and thickness fruit (3.83 cm). Dosage of 1500 gram of bokashi for planting hole is a good treatment to increase the yield of melon plants.
