Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine the growth of young palm oil trees which is planted by crops of long bean in between it, with a variety of plant spacing. The research was conducted in Rimba Jaya Village, Air Kumbang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera Province. The study had begun from October 2017 to January 2018. The design which is used for long bean plants were Randomized Block Design with one factor: plant spacing (M1 = 40 cm x 70 cm; M2 = 30 cm x 70 cm ; M3 = 20 cm x 70 cm) and replicated with four blocks. The results showed that the plant height, stem diameter, crown diameter and leaf greenness level of palm oil plants are unaffected by the plant beans. While in the long beans with a spacing of 40 cm x 70 cm gives a positive response to the growth and yield of beans.
