Abstract

The high number of Dengue Fever cases are influenced by Aedes sp. as its vectors. Aedes aegypti laid its eggs in clean water that has no direct effect on the soil and prefers containers within the house than on the outside of the house. The existence of the Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopictus mosquito species are a sign of Dengue Fever disease vectors, because of its nature that loves to live close by to human settlements. Dengue fever disease is transmitted to humans through the bites of Aedes infected with Dengue virus. Palembang is an endemic area with Dengue Fever. Sukarami District is one of the endemic areas of Dengue Fever disease in Palembang city, South Sumatera province, because from 2018 to 2019, Sukarami always has cases of Dengue Fever disease. This study aimed to determine the relationship between Maya index, House index, Container Index, Breteau index with Dengue Fever events. This research is an analytical study using case-control design study. Population in this research are the residents of Sukarami subdistrict, meanwhile the research samples are parts of the residents of Sukarami subdistrict that comes from all villages in Sukarami subdistrict amounted to 168 samples. Consist of 56 house as cases and 112 house as control. Data retrieval was conducted in February 2020. Variables associated with the DBD event bivariate are Maya index variable p = 0.000 (OR 8.380; 95% CI = 3,734-18,800) and Breteau index p = 0.000 (OR = 5,200; 95% CI = 2,255-11,991). And the dominant factor in this research is the House index variable. For the community, it is necessary to increase knowledge about the water shelter that is the site of the development of Aedes sp mosquitoes against the transmission of Dengue Fever disease. For the Palembang health Office, it is necessary to intensify the examination and PSN DBD and the program of counseling on the existence of larvae in the home or controllable sites that easily monitored.
