Abstract

This research is a descriptive study, which is a study that aims to see the proof construction on the subject, namely trigonometry. Proof construction on trigonometric material is compiling proof using definitions, rules, theorems and so on that can be used. The research subjects were students of class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 11 Palembang, totaling 36 students. The learning process in class uses direct learning steps. The data collection technique used was a written test consisting of three description questions. Data that has been collected and analyzed by evaluating the proof from the results of students' answers which consists of three categories are used, namely as follows: category A1 (general arguments that are valid and constitute evidence), category A2 (general arguments that are valid but not evidence), and category A3 (cannot use valid general arguments i.e. invalid or unfinished arguments). The results showed that the construction of student evidence on the trigonometric material as a whole belonged to the A3 category (unable to try to become a valid general argument, namely the argument is invalid or not finished). Students belonging to the A1 category were 18.28%, students belonging to the A2 category were 34.41% and students belonging to the A3 category were 47.31%.
