Abstract

The aim of the study is determining whether there is a correlation between self efficacy of and academic procrastination. This study hypothesizes that there is a correlation between self efficacy and academic procrastination in completing the thesis on scholar students in University X. This study used 150 respondents with details of with details of 15 students from each faculty of undergraduate programs at University X. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The measuring instrument that used is academic procrastination scale which refers to self efficacy dimensions by Bandura (1994)and a self efficacy scale that refers to academic procrastination aspects by Ferrari et al. (1995). Data analysis used Pearson’s Product Moment. The result of correlation shows (r) = -0,626 and p = 0,00 (p<0,05). This means self efficacy has a correlation with academic procrastination. Thus, the hypothesis could be accepted that there are negative correlation between self efficacy and academic procrastination.
