Abstract

The development in South Sumatra Province which is growing rapidly has resulted in an increasing need for construction materials. One of the construction materials required is split stone, which can be derived from andesite processing. The andesite reserves at PT Bukit Asam, Tbk. should be able to become one of the suppliers. To produce a good quality of concrete construction, the size of the split must fulfill the required standars. The purpose of this research is to produce andesite processing products that fulfill the Indonesian industry standards and also to analyze the required processing costs. The research was conducted by calculating the production and conducting a sieve test to know the quality of the processing results. The processing flow design is also carried out because the quality of the existing split stones does not meet the standards and also analyzes the processing unit costs. The productivity of the existing crushing plant unit was 142.1685 tons/hour with a machine's availability <64% . The fineness modulus obtained was 7.66, which was greater than the standard, indicating that a secondary crushing unit was needed. The addition of a deck on the vibrating screen is also needed to produce a product with a specific size. The processing costs required are 1,495,399.02 / hour, including ownership and operational costs.
