Abstract

Background: Final year students tend to have a higher level of boredom than first and second year students due to the dense and monotonous activities that have been carried out for more than 2 years. Many studies have looked at the correlation between boredom and physical activity with academic results and the results can also be correlated and unrelated. All of this encourages research to determine the correlation between boredom and physical activity with a decrease in GPA among medical students in 2017. Methods: This study is an analytical observational study conducted using case series design study. Research subjects were 31 students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria Results: Study participants comprised of 20 (64,5%) women and 11 (35,5%) men. Study participant comprised of 18 (58,1%) normal and study participant comprised of 13 (41,9%) boredom. Obtained research subject with mild physical activity totaling 15 (48,4%), moderate 15 (48,4%), vigorous 1 (3,2%). In this study the boredom level variable has no significant correlation (p>0,05) with the level of academic achievement. Physical activity variable have no significant correlation (p>0,05) with the level of academic achievement. Conclusion: Correlation of anxiety level with level of academic achievement (r=-0,091) while the correlation of physical activity with the level of academic achievement (r = -0,007). Where the level of boredom and physical activity are variables that do not have a significant correlation with academic achievement. Thus, the two variables can’t be predictors factor of the level independence. Keywords: Boredom level, physical activity, level of academic achievement.
