Abstract
Background: maternal with a history of cesarean section can perform repeated cesarean section for the next labor. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the maternal characteristics, fetal characteristics, indications, and payment methods with repeated cesarean section. Method: this research use observational analytic with secondary data collection and cross sectional approach. A total sample of 430 subjects met the inclusion criteria. The data is taken through medical records. Statistical analysis using the Chi-square test. Results: Out of the 430 samples, the characteristics of mother and fetus were mostly found based on the age of the maternal 20-35 years (74.2%), multiparous parity (94.2%), usia kehamilan aterm (75.6%), riwayat pendidikan menengah (79%). Normal baby weight 2500-4000 grams (74.2%), babies born with mild asphyxia (85.6%), the most indications for repeated cesarean section were maternal indications (67.2%), and the payment using insurance (98.4%). There was a statistically significant relationship between educational history with a p value of 0.003 (p <0.05) and an indication with a p value of 0.002 (p <0.05) for repeated cesarean section. Conclusion: Maternal and fetal characteristics were mostly found based on maternal age of 20-35 years, multiparous parity, usia kehamilan aterm, riwayat pendidikan menengah, normal baby weight 2500-4000 grams, babies born with mild asphyxia, most indications were maternal indications, and method of payment is the use of insurance. There was a statistically significant relationship between educational history and indications for repeated cesarean section. The most dominant characteristic to influence the delivery of repeated cesarean section is the indication for repeated cesarean section.
