Abstract
Sensitizer or dye organic for sensitizing TiO2 nanocrystalline solar cells is intended as an alternative photovoltaics to silicon-based renewable. The use of silicon materials that are not environmentally friendly is one reason for the development of sensitizers or dyes organic to sensitize TiO2 nanocrystalline solar cells as an alternative to photovoltaic. The dye used in this study came from the extract of bungur leaves, water hyacinth, nipah leaves, senduduk leaves and lotus leaves. DSSC was tested with the variations in the type of dye methanol extraction solvent and aquadest as well as variations in pH. DSSC is made with a thickness of 4 layers of tape, each layer of tape measuring 0.1235 mm. Several stages were carried out in this research, namely preparation of the structure DSSC, compiling and the assembling DSSC, and testing measurenment of DSSC. The parameters observed in this research were the characteristics of the organic dye (Dye), current and voltage, power, fill factor and efficiency DSSC. The results of this study showed that the dye of methanol solvent leaves alone and without pH reduction had the best performance with a value Voc of 380, Isc of 0.0465, an FF value of 4.4352, and an efficiency of 2.52%. The lowest performance with a value of Voc amounting to 132, Isc of 0.0028, an FF value of 0.2370, and an efficiency of 0.05% owned by the lotus dye leaf. Keywords: Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC), various types of solvents, pH dye
