Abstract

In indonesia invesment activity which is used islamic way of course very interesting, because that activity make the moeslem believe. The example is syariah mutual funds. But as often we deliver statement (fatwa) the risk and return still as the main consideration for moeslem investor. The purpose of this research is to describe the increasing of syariah mutual funds perfonnance which is becoming the basic of getting invesrnent policy. This research used secunder data which was published by Badan Pengawas Pasar Modal, Indonesian bank, and Yahoo finance. The sample was taken through purposive sampling, with criteria: 1) the sample that was taken by the mixing of active syariah in 2011. 2) the mixing of those mutual funds got net asset value that was publish from december 2010 until december 2011. Based on those criteria the sample that was analyses was 12 mixing syariah mutual funds. The sample was analyses by using Sharpe, Treynor, and Jensen method by using . microsoft excel. The results of analyses show that there are only two of syariah mutual funds that always show positive score, they are Cipta Syariah Balanced and RD trim syariah berimbang. But, based on those two mutual funds, the one that have the best perfonnance was RD trim syariah berimbang. So it can be investment product. This study has implication for investors to do a special study before their invest in mutual funds. Further evaluation of mutual funds perfonnance can be done by using ShBll)e, Treynor, and Jensen method. For invesment manager, this found have implication that the manager consider the portofolio invesment that has been fanned.
