Abstract

Nausea and vomiting are side effects of chemotherapy for cervical cancer patients. Treatment of nausea and vomiting can be given to ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation. Ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation that offers comfort by reducing or eliminating nausea and vomiting. The aim of this survey was to determine the effect of ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation on cervical cancer patients post-chemotherapy. The research design was pre-experimental with one group pre-post test and the sample were taken using purposive sampling. Ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation is given 2 times a day for ±30 minutes. Based on the result of the t-test, it shows that ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation has an effect, reducing nausea and vomiting with a p-value of 0,0001 (p-value<0,05). Ginger aromatherapy and progressive muscle relaxation focusing on interventions that provide comfort in physical and psychological. Patients are taught to improve comfort to themselves that patients able to control and manage nausea to vomiting.
