Abstract

Background: Trauma violence cases are the most recorded cases in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Medical Records of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This research was conducted to see the number of victims of violence recorded in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Medical Records of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from 2018-2020. Method: This type of research is descriptive observational. Sampling was conducted at the Department of Forensic Medicine and Medical Records of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in the 2018-2020 period with the population and research sample being victims of sharp trauma violence. Data are displayed descriptively in tables and graphs. Result: 281 people were recorded who experienced sharp trauma from 2018-2020. Stab wounds were 132 cases (46.97%). There were 156 wounds on the upper limb (26.18%). The number of wounds <5 was 243 incidents (86.47%). Medium degree trauma as many as 154 events (54.80%). The age group of 12-25 years was 129 people (45.90%). There were 269 males (95.72%) and 12 females (4.28%). The work background of private employees is 85 people (30.24%). Conclusion: From the 281 victims of sharp trauma violence, the majority were men, at the productive age of 12-25 years old, the background of work as a private employee where the most characteristic of sharp trauma was
