Abstract

Urticaria, which is commonly called hives or hives, is a disease caused by a vascular reaction in the form of skin edema mixed with itching, occurs quickly and lasts 1-2 hours, can also last longer and lasts 36 hours. Urticaria is divided into two, namely chronic urticaria that occurs less than 6 weeks and chronic urticaria occurs more than 6 weeks.The incidence of urticaria is quite high in various regions and in the world, around 15-20% of the world's population has experienced urticaria during their lifetime and there is no data on the urticaria profile at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang city of Palembang, therefore, this research was conducted to see the profile of acute and chronic urticaria patients and based on urticaria diagnosis, age, sex, trigger factors, and type of treatment in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period 2017-2019. This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. Samples were taken from secondary data in the form of acute and chronic urticaria patient medical records with a total sampling technique. The total number of urticaria patients in the 2017-2019 period was 74 cases of urticaria. The most common type of urticaria was chronic urticaria (83,8%). Female sex was mostly found in acute urticaria (75%) and chronic urticaria (71%) and the 26-45 year age group was mostly found in acute urticaria (25%) and chronic urticaria (37%). The triggers of cold weather (16,7%) and food (16,7%) were mostly found in acute urticaria and cold weather (21%) and autoimmune (9,6%) factors were mostly found in chronic urticaria. Type of combination treatment with H1 antihistamines and calamine was mostly found in acute urticaria (25%) and chronic urticaria (27,4%). Chronic urticaria is mostly found in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in the period 2017-2019. Urticaria occurs mostly in women and young adults, with the most triggering factors being cold weather and treatment given a combination of H1 antihistamines with calamine.
