Abstract

Electric motors are one of the electric machines that are useful for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. Electric motors widely used in the industry usually work continuously and do not rarely work in almost full load conditions. As a result, the motor will experience excessive temperature increases that cause the burning of the coil or part of the coil. In these conditions the efficiency of the motor will decrease even the motor is not able to operate anymore. As a result the motor will be rewinded. His research aims to find out the influence of motors after rewinding. Some of the parameters measured are starting current, input power, efficiency, motor loss, working temperature and vibration. After calculating efficiency before rewinding 68.31% and after rewinding 64.1%, working temperature before rewinding 22oC and after rewiding 24.6oC, Vibration before rewinding 2.79 mm/s and after rewinding 4.17 mm/s. The causative factors of decreased efficiency and temperature increase can be caused by differences in conductor material and tight coils in the coil that will increase the impedance value.
