Abstract

Target strength merupakan suatu ukuran yang dapat menggambarkan kemampuan suatu target untuk memantulkan gelombang suara yang datang mengenainya. Salah satu faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi nilai target strength adalah ukuran ikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengukur nilai target strength ikan gulamah dan mengkaji hubungan nilai target strength dengan terhadap panjang ikan gulamah. Obyek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ikan gulamah (Johnius sp) dan instrumen hidroakustik yang digunakan yaitu Biosonic DT-X Scientific Echosounder dengan frekuensi 200 kHz secara terkontrol dengan menggunakan kurungan. Pengambilan data menggunakan tethered method yaitu sampel ikan yang telah mati digantung dengan menggunakan tali monofilamen dimasukkan ke dalam kurungan. Pengolahan data menggunakan Software Echoview 5.4. Hasil menunjukkan nilai target strength pada 17 ekor ikan gulamah terdeteksi pada -67,89 dB s.d. -52,61 dB untuk ukuran ikan 18,1 cm – 23,3 cm. Persamaan regresi linear yang dihasilkan yaitu y = 61,09x – 141,5 dan nilai koefisien determinasi (R2) adalah sebesar 0,41. Formula yang dihasilkan untuk rumusan nilai target strength ikan gulamah yaitu TS = 20 log L – 88,08. Kata Kunci: Target Strength, Ikan Gulamah, Panjang Ikan Target strength is a measure that describes a target's ability to reflect incoming sound waves on it. One of the factors that greatly affects the target strength value is the size of the fish. This research conducted to measure the value of the target strength of the gulamah fish and to examine the relationship between the target strength value and the length of the gulamah fish. The objects used in this study are gulamah fish (Johnius sp) and the hydroacoustic instrument used is the Biosonic DT-X Scientific Echosounder with a frequency of 200 kHz controlled using confinement. Data retrieval using the tethered method, that are dead fish samples that have been hanged using monofilament rope are put in a cage. Data processing using Echoview 5.4 software. The results showed that the target strength value of 17 gulamah fish are detected at -67.89 dB to -67. -52.61 dB for fish sizes 18.1 cm - 23.3 cm. The resulting linear regression equation is y = 61.09x - 141.5 and the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.41. The resulting formula for the formulation of the target strength value of gulamah fish is TS = 20 log L - 88.08. Keywords: Target Strength, Gulamah Fish, Fish Length
