Abstract

Cultural Ambassador is a promotional medium to introduce the regional culture that is owned by each region, because the chosen ambassador will become a representative example of youth for the community. The Palembang City Culture Office held a selection to find the best sons and daughters to become cultural ambassadors in accordance with the provisions. In the selection process that often leaves data vulnerable to loss, the use of paper also depletes natural resources because elections are held every year. The process that is classified as still conventional makes the process of selecting ambassadors longer, less efficient and human error due to the large number of candidates for ambassador who registered. Therefore, a Decision Support System with the Elimination and Choice Translation Reality (ELECTRE) method is needed. It is suitable for making SPK for the Selection of Cultural Ambassadors, the electre method is suitable because it uses the outranking concept in calculating alternative pairs. This method was chosen because it is in accordance with existing business processes, where alternatives that do not meet the criteria can be eliminated and alternatives that match the criteria can be generated. By using the Electre method, a decision was made in the form of an ambassador's recommendation in which participants who did not match the criteria would be eliminated. The electre method is suitable for decision-making problems with many alternatives. The results of this electre research resulted in the name of the winner in accordance with the data on the Selection of Cultural Ambassadors from the Palembang City Cultural Office, for both categories, namely Cek Bagus, Cek Ayu, Palembang City.
