Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of family support for the resilience of drug rehabilitation participants in Palembang City. The hypothesis of this study is there is a role of family support for resilience. The population of this study were participants of drug rehabilitation in Palembang City with a sample size of 150 people. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is the resilience scale which refers to the resilience component proposed by Wagnild and Young (1990) and the family support scale which refers to the form of family support from Friedman (1998). The researcher analyzed the data using simple linear regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis showed that the value of R square was 0.155 F = 27.248 and p = 0.000 (p<0.05). This shows that family support plays a significant role in resilience. Thus the research hypothesis can be accepted with the value of the contribution of family support to resilience of 15.5%.
