Abstract

Islamic banks are accountable to fullfil a social role and ethical inherent in their character as an Islamic institution. Their accountability could be realized through disclosing social responsiblity consistent with Islamic principles, however, in fact, social responsibility disclosure is different in each country. This research aims to detennine the practises of social responsibility disclosure in banks annual report on the state of fu]l Islamic banking system and dual banking system. This research using descriptive analysis and content analysis in analyzing data. Analysis conducted on the annual reports of eight Islamic banks (located in four countries). The results of the analysis suggest that social responsibilty reporting by Islamic banks on the state of dual banking system was better than fuIJ islamic banking system
