Abstract

A 3-phase induction motor is a type of motor that is generally the most widely used in everyday life compared to other motors, namely as the main driving force for machines in the industrial sector as well as for household needs. The objectives of this study were (1) to calculate the performance of the induction motor after rewinding (2) calculate the efficiency and torque of the induction motor after rewinding. (3) determine the vibration and temperature changes of the induction motor after rewinding. The research method is a case study at PT. Polychem Indonesia Karawang. Research Results (1) the motor performance before rewinding averaged 155.9% of the provided motor power, the motor performance after rewinding was on average 160.48% of the motor power provided. Thus the motor performance before rewinding is lighter than after rewinding by 160.48% - 155.9% = 1.38% (2) The efficiency of the calculation and discussion of the motor before rewinding has an efficiency level of 64.16% > the level of efficiency after rewinding amounted to 62.33% So after rewinding, the average efficiency decreased by 64.16% - 62.33% = 1.83%. And the motor torque after rewinding increased by an average of 0.17 Nm. (3) After rewinding, the motor temperature increased by 1.670 C, and vibration increased by 0.15 mm / sec. Increased motor temperature and vibration due to an increase in electric current (amperes) in the motor because other factors remain such as motor load, room temperature, and bearings, brackets are also good. Good bearings and brackets are known from the results of checking the sound of a good or OK . So it can be concluded that the motor performance after rewinding decreases, seen from the average motor performance, heavier, decreased efficiency, heavier torque, vibration and increased temperature.
