Abstract
The wall is one of the non-structural elements of a building that acts as a barrier to a room. In the world of construction, walls are considered to give a load to the structural elements so that the weight accommodated by the building also increases. To minimize the load borne by structural elements and reduce the damage caused by the earthquake, a lightweight material is required. Therefore, the material used in this research is foam concrete with a rectangular opening. In addition, the analyzed walls added whether or not the use of wire mesh with 3 types of dimensional variations. Each wall type is varied with respect to thickness, namely 40 mm, 50 mm, and 60 mm. Then the wall is given a loading in the form of a monotonic static load slowly until it breaks down. Analyzed modeling on the wall using the ANSYS program. The program provides output results in the form of a comparison graph between the load and the defromation of each panel model. The analysis results show differences in the behavior of the panels being modeled. It can be concluded that differences in panel dimensions, panel thickness, and the use of wire mesh have an impact on the resistance of the walls due to the loads given. The higher the dimensions of the walls are made, the smaller the load being held. On the other hand, in the behavior of panel thickness, the thicker the wall model makes the load that is borne even bigger as well. Meanwhile, the use of wire mesh on the wall provides panel stiffness so that the load obtained is higher with less deformation than without wire mesh
