Abstract

IN WRITING SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES IT IS ALMOST INEVITABLE TO FIND CHEATING, SUCH AS TAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S IDEAS OR WHAT IS OFTEN CALLED PLAGIARISM. CHECKING PLAGIARISM IN AN ARTICLE IS NOT EASY, BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY DATA TO COMPARE. BASED ON THE ABOVE, A SYSTEM IS NEEDED THAT CAN HELP CHECK PLAGIARISM IN INDONESIAN SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES. IN THIS STUDY THE AUTHORS CHOSE THE JARO-WINKLER DISTANCE METHOD. THE DATA USED IN THIS STUDY AMOUNTED TO 10 (TEN) DATA, EACH DOCUMENT CONSISTING OF 6 (SIX) MODIFIED DOCUMENTS. THE CONCLUSION IN THIS STUDY IS THAT THE SMALLER THE PERCENTAGE OF THE MODIFIED DATA, THE HIGHER THE ACCURACY OF THE JARO-WINKLER DISTANCE. IN THIS STUDY, THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACCURACY PRODUCED WAS 0.95% ON A3 DATA AND A6 DATA.
