Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) Identifying the leading regional sectors in Lahat Regency, 2) Recommending superior agricultural commodities in Lahat Regency that are prioritized for cultivation. The method used descriptive method. The descriptive retrieval method used is secondary data collection. The data collected in this study consisted of secondary data, which was taken through the Lahat district's central statistics agency. Data obtained in the field and presented in tabulated form which is then analyzed mathematically and systematically descriptive. Several calculation formulas are used to answer the research objectives.To answer the first objective, which is to identify the leading sectors in Lahat Regency, using the formula LQ = (xi / PDRBi) / (xj / PDRBj). if LQ is greater than 1 means the leading sector, has the potential for export. if LQ is less than 1, it means the sector is non-superior, it has the potential to import. if LQ is equal to 1 it means that the sector is non-superior, it is only sufficient to meet the needs of the region alone and unable to export. From the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1) Regional leading sectors in Lahat Regency include trade in electricity and gas, agriculture, mining and quarrying. 2) The leading commodities in the agricultural sector in Lahat Regency that are recommended to be developed based on the LQ results obtained include soybeans, leeks, spinach, green beans, kale, cucumber, cabbage, chayote, petai, eggplant, tomatoes, carrots, mango, durian, papaya , bark, ginger, poultry, mutton, lamb, buffalo, oil palm, cocoa, coffee.
