Abstract

This study area is located in the Tanjung Agung area, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra with a research focus on the Penyandingan block (North) and the Paduraksa Block (South) and geologically in the South Sumatra Basin. This study aims to design the geometry of coal and calculate coal resources in each coal block. The use of methods in this research consists of literature studies, data, laboratory analysis, studio analysis which includes the process of coal geometry modeling and coal resource calculation. The geological condition of the Tanjung Agung area is in the Muara Enim Formation with found rock units of sandstone, coal and claystone. In addition, this area is controlled by structures in the form of faults and folds. The coal geometry in the Penyandingan Block ranges from 0.5-16,88 meters and consists of Seam A, Seam B and Seam C while the Paduraksa Block has a thickness ranging from 1,2-21,78 m consisting of Seam A, Seam B1, Seam B2, and Seam C. Both coal blocks have a roof and floor composed of sandstone and claystone with interburden in the form of sandstone and claystone. The layers in both blocks are fault, fold and pinch out. The total measured resource in the two blocks is 58.233.374.56 tonnes, the total indicated resource in the two blocks is 36.458.919.02 tonnes, and the total inferred resource in the two blocks is 27.318.316.19 tonnes.
