Abstract

Free time is the time when we have finished doing our main activities so that we can do other productivity. As it is pointed out that human life, especially farmers, always carries out activities or activities such as maintenance, fertilization, maintenance, and planting activities which are constantly bound by active time, which means that these activities are always related to a predetermined time or schedule. On the other hand, in making activities outside these hours, it certainly takes time, so that the use of free time can be done as a way to achieve goals as needed. The purpose of this research is (1) Calculating the amount of working time provided by coffee farmers to farm coffee and other farming. (2) Calculating the potential and percentage of free time in Bukit Timur Village and Aromantai Village, Jarai District, Lahat Regency. (3) Calculating the amount of household income of coffee farmers in Bukit Timur Village and Aromantai Village, Jarai District, Lahat Regency. Sampling for coffee farmers in the two villages used a survey method totaling 30 farmers per village and using a disproportionated stratified random sampling method. The results of this study indicate that the work time spent by coffee farmers is greater than the working time spent on coffee farming and the income of coffee farmers in Bukit Timur Village is greater than the income of farmers in Aromantai Village.
