Abstract

This study aims to find out the values of the local wisdom in the tradition of bebuke Midang in Kayuagung City, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency". This research uses descriptive method with a qualititative approach. The informants of this study were consisted of seven people. The techniques of collecting data of this study were using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used in this study were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The validity of the tests were tested by the credibility test, transferability test, and dependability test. Based on the results of data analysis that has been done before, it can be concluced that values of local wisdom contained in the tradition of the midang bebuke are still preserved and preserved by the Kayuagung community it can be seen that there are three values of the local wisdom of the tradition of the midang bebuke which includes the first artistic values found in the activities of wearing and displaying various traditional attire of the greatness of Kayuagung such as maju setakatan, maju inti bengian inti, manjou kahwen, maju mulah turun tujuh, introducing islamic nuances, the existence of traditional tanjidor music, both values of solidarity are found in ningkuk or gathering night activities with young people such as determining traditional attire and raising funds, that three religious values are found in the prayer reading activity.
