Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to find out the factors that cause problems in Urusan Pemasaran Teh Kemasan (UPTK) and (2) to design the concept of accounting information system that can be applied to solve the problem. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through literature study, observation and interviews with personnel in-charge. The results showed that the factors causing the problems in UPTK is the dominant use of paper documents, no Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the usage of manual system. To overcome the problems that occur in UPTK, researchers designed a new accounting information system equipped with a database that can be integrated to facilitate the processing of data in a variety of needs and minimize the use of paper. Researchers recommend that company start organizing the SOP internal control can be run in orderly and consistent manner based on the design concepts have been described.
