Abstract

The research area is located in central java province, precisely in the Cikakak area of Banyumas regency. The area of the research area is 3 x 2.5 km, which is the focus of this research is the Halang Formation, the halang resebar formation is quite wide on the island of java, so it is very interesting to do further research. There are six formations in the research area, namely the pemali formation, the rambat formation, the halang formation, the kumbang formation, the tapak formation, and the alluvial quarter. The land form in the study area is divided into four land forms, namely denudational lowlands, denudational lowlands, denudational hills and alluvial lowlands, in addition to various formations and landforms in the study area also has a fairly complex geological structure with at least three faults and five folds, the focus of this research is the halang formation. The Halang Formation is deposited in turbidite currents and has very diverse rock characteristics. In this study, there are three trajectories, each of which has taken the description data and the thickness of the rock layers using the mesuring section (ms) method. The correlation carried out in this study is related to the correlation between biostratigraphy and lithostratigraphy where this biostratigraphic correlation uses fossils. Foraminidfera is able to correlate between paths, while lithostratigraphic correlation uses similarity of lithological characteristics to be able to correlate between trajectories. After taking data and analyzing the collected paleontological samples, the results obtained are that in the cikakak area and its surroundings are deposited in the miidle fan-upper fan environment where the pengendpanya occurs in the age range n13-n17 with a bathymetric depth of 709 meters - 1202 meters (batial above).
