Abstract
The background of the planning and design of the History Museum KOOPSAU I is to help realize the vision and mission of the Air Force base Sri Mulyono Herlambang to foster community interest in aerospace namely the development of aerospace potential, and introduce the history of the struggle of KOOPSAU I as well as a place to accommodate aircraft KOOPSAU I which is no longer used. Then a special Indonesian Air Force museum is needed in the western part of Indonesia with a special historical collection of KOOPSAU I. This museum requires a wide span of space so that the roof structure uses a space frame structure. The programatic concept determines the extent and circulation in the space that forms a systematic circulation starting from arrival, seeing the exhibition and going home. Linear interior circulation with the consideration that visitors can pass through the exhibition space continuously. Whereas the zoning of space on the 1st floor is a group of public facilities and an airplane exhibition and on the 2nd floor is reserved for museum exhibition groups. Linear circulation is also applied to the site, namely the entrance to the parking area, the park and the exit. The 1st and 2nd floor connectors use the Escalator ramp so that visitors feel the aristocratic power as if they were at an altitude to see the view of the airplane as a whole and by structuring the sound system using speakers that emit a thick sound of military nuances. The basic form of the mass composition of the museum is the cube by analogy with the shape of the sukhoi plane. It is the 4th most advanced fighter in the world owned by Indonesia.
