Abstract

The research objective was to determine the role of marital adjustment to wife’s happiness on early marriage at x area Jambi City. The study hypothesis is marital adjustment has a role to wife’s happiness on early marriage at x area Jambi City. The study population was 152 wife’s whose married with age 16-20 years with simple random sampling technique and 110 people as the respondents. Marital adjustment scale was measured used aspects from Hurlock (2002). Happiness scale was measured used aspects from Carr (2004). The result of the simple regression analysis showed value of r = 0,304; F = 10,979 and p = 0,001 (<0,05). It shows that marital adjustment has significant role to the happiness. The contribution of R square = 0,092, which means the magnitude of the role of marital adjustment in influencing happiness is 9,2%. Thus the hypothesis is accepted that there is a role of marital adjustment towards wife’s happiness on early marriage at x area Jambi City.
