Abstract

This research titled "Development of Rubber Industry of PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya in Pulokerto Subdistrict, Gandus District, Palembang City 2008-2018 Social History Subject Material Contribution". The problem in this research is how the development of PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya and how the role of PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya on the social and economic life of PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya in Pulokerto Urban Village 2008-2018. The methodology used in this research is the historical method, using heuristic measures, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Meanwhile, the approaches used in this research are sociological approaches, economic approaches, and geographic approaches. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya as a private rubber company that is engaged in rubber plantations, especially labor and has a rubber factory for processing concentrated latex in Pulokerto, PT. Bumi Rambang Kramajaya does not only focus on industrial activities, but also performs its obligations, namely through social responsibility to employees. The existence of this company guarantee certainly plays a role in the social and economic life of employees. The following is the social security for workers that it provides, namely health care insurance, work accident insurance, life insurance and old age savings. In the economic sector, several allowances are provided, namely allowances for employees who are already married, bonus money incentives), and medical assistance.
