Abstract
The research aims to determine the relationship of body image with selfconfidence in teenage girls who have acne (acne vulgaris). The hypothesis of this research is that there is a correlation of body image with self-confidence in teenage girls who have acne (acne vulgaris). The research used a quantitative method by data from 105 teenage girls who have acne as its data using purposive sampling technique. Self-confidence and body image were measured based on self-confidence aspects from Lauster (Ruwaida, et al, 2006; Kushartanti, 2009; Ghufron, 2014; Asyri, 2017) and body image aspects from Cash and Pruzinsky (2002). The data is analyzed using the product moment correlation technique. The result of this research showed that body image has a correlation with self-confidence with r value of 0,561 with a significance level of 0,000 (p<0,05). There is a significant correlation between body image and self-confidence in teenage girls who have acne (acne vulgaris). Therefore, the hypothesis for this study is accepted.
