Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) Describe the quality of coffee produced by farmers in Muara Siban Village, Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City, 2) Calculate the amount of income obtained by farmers from farming robusta coffee in Muara Siban Village, Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City, 3) Analyze the relationship between coffee quality and robusta coffee farming income in Muara Siban Village, Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City. This research was conducted in Muara Siban Village, Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City from May 2020 to completion. The location selection was made deliberately. The research method used is a survey method. The sampling technique in this study used a simple random sampling method. The sample farmers were 30 farmers from a total of 126 coffee farmers. The criteria for the sample farmers were coffee farmers who had a land area of one to two hectares, the age of the coffee plants was between 5 and 20 years, considering that the coffee plant at this age is in its productive period, ± 5 years of experience in cultivating coffee. The data collected in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the quality of dry coffee beans based on the presence / absence of live insects has an average score of 2,57 which means that the criteria are high, the presence / absence of foul-smelling and / or moldy-smelling beans has an average score of 2,57 which means that the criteria are high. , the water content is 2,77 which means that the criteria are high and the average score of non-coffee feces is 2.33 which means moderate. Thus, the quality of dry coffee beans produced by the farmers in Muara Siban Village as a whole is high. The income of coffee farmers in Muara Siban Village, Dempo Utara District, Pagaralam City is an average of Rp24.225.090,00 per year and RP17.808.906,00 per hectare per year. The relationship between the quality of dry coffee beans and income is not significant, in the same direction (unidirectional). Keywords: dry coffee bean quality, relationships, and income.
