Abstract
The use of steam both in power plants and industry causes greater demand for steam. For that we need an energy converter to convert fuel energy into steam potential energy which in this case the tool used is a steam boiler. A boiler is a closed vessel in which steam is produced directly by absorbing the heat supplied by the fuel which is then used to produce moisture. Steam boilers can be classified according to the fluid flowing in a steam boiler, namely: water boiler steam boiler and fire pipe steam boiler. PT.SriwidjajaFertilizerin this case uses a water boiler steam boiler as a steam generator for its industrial needs. Steam boilers are devices that can use various types of fuel depending on existing resources, such as coal, petroleum and natural gas. Which in this case, the fuel used by PT. Sriwidjaja Fertilizeris natural gas. The largest composition contained by natural gas used by PT. Sriwidjaja Fertilizer is Methane (82.45% volume). Steam boiler performance can be seen from the efficiency of fuel consumption. The greater the efficiency means the use of energy will be more economical, and vice versa.
