Abstract
The land and peat forest fires are easily occur during the dry season. It caused by less of precipitation . South Sumatra province have large peat forest areas which is vulnerable to burning during the dry season. Therefore, The Agency for The Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) is conduct the cloud seeding by Weather Modification Technology (WMT) during the period of June until October 2017. This study is use qualitative and quantitative calculation to anylize the effectiveness level of the clouds seeding process. The hourly precipitation data during the study period is provided by Tropical Rain Measurement Monitoring (TRMM) . In addition, , this study also used weather radar data from the Sultan Mahmud Baddaruddin II Airport. The radar data show the convective cloud during the cloud seeding process. In general, the results show that the clouds seeding technology is less efficient in turning clouds into precipitation
